Rooks County Release Meanings
A release from Rooks County Jail means one custody episode at that jail ended. It does not always mean the person entered the community. Someone may leave after posting bond, receiving credit for time served, finishing a local sentence, obtaining a dismissal or court order, or starting probation. Another person may be handed to KDOC, a neighboring county, or a federal authority. That handoff is a transfer. Custody continues elsewhere.
The office holding the next record depends on the outcome. The Rooks County Sheriff’s Office keeps the local booking and release record. Rooks District Court records can show the bond order, dismissal, sentence, jail credit, probation order, or other legal event behind departure. KDOC keeps state-prison and state-supervision records. Federal systems apply only after a documented transfer into federal custody. These boundaries matter because one missing roster entry cannot answer every release question.

It displays a name, image, booking number, charges, bond, arresting agency, a compact “Date” field, age, sex, and race. The page does not label that date as a release date. It has no released filter, release reason, releasing authority, transfer destination, disposition, or archive.
A written request should identify the full name, approximate booking date, and booking number when known. Ask for existing fields, not a new report composed by staff. Some portions may be withheld if a record is juvenile, sealed, expunged, investigatory, safety-sensitive, or otherwise exempt.

No official source states how long a fully released Rooks record stays available online. The roster has no archive. KASPER describes discharged populations within its scope but does not promise that every detail remains public for a fixed term. Request the underlying record or retention schedule when later access matters.

The sheriff’s services page currently posts a $5 report-copy price, exact change, and weekday pickup during normal office hours. Do not assume this charge covers every electronic release request. Under K.S.A. 45-218, the custodian must act as soon as possible and by the end of the third business day. That action may be production, denial, or an explanation of delay with the earliest expected availability.
K.S.A. 45-219 permits actual-cost fees, advance payment, staff time, and redaction costs. K.S.A. 45-220 permits a written request that identifies the requester and describes the record well enough to locate it. A KDOC record instead goes through the KDOC records portal and should use the KDOC number. Ask for actual release status, final discharge or certificate date, and relevant sentence fields.
Rooks County Release Court Trail
Rooks County’s post-roster path is unusually concrete. The 23rd Judicial District Rooks page publishes the clerk’s direct email, phone, fax, address, and split Friday hours. The clerk is at 115 N. Walnut Street, Stockton, phone 785-425-6718, fax 785-425-6568, and Rooks_County_Clerk@kscourts.gov. Hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to noon.
The Kansas District Court Public Access Portal can be filtered to Rooks County. A public case may preserve case number, parties, docket events, bond proceedings, disposition, sentence, jail credit, probation, revocation, and closure after the jail entry disappears. Read the actual entry or document. A scheduled hearing does not prove it happened. A listed bond does not show payment. A dismissal in one case does not end a hold in another.
Some documents are available only at a courthouse terminal. Sealed and expunged matters and several restricted case types remain unavailable. Expungement under K.S.A. 21-6614 can restrict public agency access after the statutory process. Its waiting clock may depend on discharge from probation, community corrections, parole, conditional release, or postrelease supervision, not merely the day a person left jail.
Rooks County Bond Release Proof
The Rooks roster displays a bond amount for current bookings, but the sheriff publishes no bond-out instructions, local schedule, payment method, or processing timeline. A displayed amount does not prove payment. It also does not prove staff processed departure. A bond release normally means the case continues while the person is outside the jail.
Confirm physical release with the jail, then read the docket or bond order for legal authority. Those times can differ because a court action and jail processing are separate events. When the exact sequence matters, request the sheriff’s timestamp and the relevant court document. Never substitute a bond amount, scheduled hearing, or roster absence for both sources.
Rooks County Jail Release Setting
Rooks County’s current complex combines the sheriff’s office and jail. HMN Architects describes the project as linked to a successful 2014 local sales-tax vote. Its justice-architecture booklet describes a 20-bed design. Those facts give local history. They do not establish current rated capacity, population, release hours, or operating practice.
The official jail page publishes visitation material but no release-processing hours, physical exit, waiting area, transportation plan, weekend procedure, or property-return process. Those points remain unknown. Call the jail about a specific release rather than importing procedures from a larger Kansas facility.
Find Rooks County Released Inmates
The search begins with the system that last held the person. The official Rooks roster accepts name and booking-number searches and displays current detainees. A match means the person is shown in current custody. An absent name means only that the public interface does not display that person now. It does not prove community release.
- Search the roster by full name and booking number, then note the time.
- If absent, call the jail and ask whether the result was release, transfer, another booking, or another status.
- Request the booking and release record for time, reason, authority, and destination.

Rooks County Release or Transfer
The live roster has shown detainees connected to Plainville Police Department, neighboring sheriffs, KDOC, and other agencies. Dropping from the list can therefore mean return or transfer to another custodian. This is a documented Rooks County risk. The local custody episode ended, yet confinement may continue.
Ask the jail a closed set of questions: released to the community, sent to KDOC, moved to another county, returned to an agency, held under another booking, or given another status. Record the destination. If KDOC received the person, use KASPER. If a federal authority received the person, use the proper federal custodian. Put both the time Rooks custody ended and the receiving agency in the research log because those are separate facts.
A transfer can coexist with a court release from the local charge. An immigration hold can likewise mean the local case no longer keeps the person in Rooks custody while federal detention continues. The sheriff’s destination field and the receiving system resolve that distinction.

KASPER, the Kansas Adult Supervised Population Electronic Repository, is the proper public system for a person committed to KDOC or released from state prison to parole, conditional release, postrelease supervision, or some compact supervision. Search by KDOC number where possible. Match a name result with birth date, description, photograph, conviction county, case number, and offense. Then inspect the current location, custody or supervision status, movement dates, parole office, and sentence fields.

KDOC’s official field list appears on its locating an offender page.
“Anticipated” is the key limit. A forecast can change and is not the county jail’s timestamp. A noninstitutional location plus an explicit supervision status and office is strong evidence that a person left state prison. Final discharge is different. Request the release record or certificate of discharge under K.S.A. 22-3722 when proof of completed KDOC supervision is needed.
Rooks County Recent Release Gap
Rooks County publishes no official 24-hour, 48-hour, or 72-hour released-person feed. The live roster has no current/released switch, archive, release date, or date-window control. Its update cadence and post-release visibility period are not published. The judicial district’s “Rooks County Jail Log” link returns to the same sheriff roster, not a second historical source.
A recent check therefore uses a time-stamped roster observation, jail call, written request, court case, and any receiving system. The Released Last 24 Hours page presents that narrow workflow without inventing a feed. No official sheriff mobile app was located. The linked Facebook page is an announcement channel, not a proven release archive.
Rooks County Release Supervision
Probation, parole, and postrelease are not synonyms. Probation is ordered by a court and may be handled through Court Services or Northwest Kansas Community Corrections. Parole and postrelease supervision follow a KDOC prison sentence. A person may be outside jail or prison while still bound by a supervision order.

Rooks County Release System Boundaries
Kansas VINE covers adults in participating county jails and expressly excludes KDOC state prisons. Check the Attorney General’s current coverage map for Rooks participation. Registration must occur while the person is in custody. A release, transfer, or escape alert reports a county-jail custody change, not a court outcome. The BOP locator applies to federal prison custody from 1982 onward. A former federal prisoner may show a released result and date. ICE’s locator is aimed at current immigration detention, so an absent result is not a historical release record. The KBI registry applies only to people with a statutory registration duty and is not a list of all released people.

Rooks County Release Facility
Rooks County has one verified local custodial endpoint, Rooks County Jail at the Sheriff’s Office complex in Stockton. It serves pretrial custody, local sentences, warrants and violations, and interagency holds. No operating municipal jail, state prison, federal prison, or ICE facility was verified within the county. Plainville Police Department arrests can appear at the county jail without creating a separate Plainville facility.
The jail releases a person to the community after an authorized local outcome or transfers that person to the next custodian. Its booking and release record is the best first proof of which event occurred. A state, county, or federal transfer must then be followed in the receiving system. This facility boundary keeps a local roster absence from being mistaken for the end of all custody.
Control identity at every handoff. Use the Rooks booking number for the jail episode, the case number for the court file, the KDOC number for state corrections, and the BOP register number for a federal record. A similar name is not enough. Compare birth date, photograph, physical description, conviction county, offense, and event order when those fields are lawfully displayed. Keep a short log of the source, query, date, local time, visible status, and next custodian. Dynamic records can change. A screenshot records what a system displayed at one moment, while an official release line or certified order gives stronger proof of the fact that office controls.
